How can I make this type of effect in iMovie?

PostSat Aug 23, 2014 12:23 am

I want to be able to have a clip or picture on the side of my video while doing a haul. I just wanted to know if it was possible on this app or not. If so please tell me how or what to type in the help bar to find directions on how to do this. Thanks!

It is possible in iMovie 10 and '11 to do a side by side effect

To find out which version of iMovie you have go to "iMovie", "About".

To do this effect in iMovie 10, drag the layer you want to apply on top of the base clip in your project and then click on the adjust button in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Click the leftmost button there and click on a dropdown that says "Cutaway". Then select the "Side by Side" option from there.

In iMovie 11, first make sure you have advanced tools turned on. Then drag the video clip onto the base clip and select "Side by Side" from the menu there.

Hope this helps
